If you thought sports were already chaotic, you’ve got another thing coming with Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports landing today on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Seriously, folks, this isn’t your average sports game—think less Olympic finesse, more Wile E. Coyote launching himself out of a cannon with an ACME rocket strapped to his back. This game promises wacky antics that only the Looney Tunes squad could pull off.
In this wild party game, you’ll be picking from a roster of iconic characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and plenty more to throw down in ridiculous sports challenges that range from daredevil skiing to—wait for it—a giant rubber chicken toss. You’ll travel to all sorts of zany, cartoon-inspired arenas like a desert filled with dynamite traps (thanks, Coyote), or a snowy mountaintop where Yosemite Sam might just show up to blow a fuse.
These events aren’t just designed to make you laugh; they demand some serious skill too, with each mini-game offering its own set of chaotic twists. Don’t expect any game to play out the same way twice, especially with each Toon bringing their own unique, slightly unhinged abilities to the competition. Expect Bugs to pull off a sneaky move or two, and don’t be surprised when Daffy gets a little… well, “Daffy.”
Lukewarm Response
As of posting, only 3 stream reviews exist and a lot of comments about the game lacking polish. While it’s great to see more Mario Party style games, especially cross-platform, it’s hopeful that any issues will get fixed and a bit more polish will get the get sticker. Without a loyal fanbase, games like these can die out fast and at the high price of entry that’s not always the best.
