FFXIV is one of the few MMOs out there that still require a monthly subscription fee, along with the likes of World of Warcraft and uh, I’m sure there is some more out there. Point being, if you want everything the game has to offer you have to pay the subscription fee. Of course, like WoW, Final Fantasy XIV let’s you play for free with some limitations. Unlike WoW, the free trial is actually insanely lofty and pretty much let’s you play most of the game without ever having to subscribe. A Note for Those Who Have Ever Purchased the Base Game Bruh, you’ll have to start over. You’ll have to make an all new Square Enix account in order to play the free trial and, if at any time you upgrade from the free trial, you can not return. So keep that in mind. The good news is that…

The Internet is ravenous for something to be conflicted about and right now it’s the Final Fantasy 7 remake. Why? Because it’s apparent that Square Enix is going in another direction with FF7. The recent trailer shows a different game than FF7, something that looks to be real time action based vs. turn based like the original. It also shows cutscenes from the original that diverse greatly from how they looked in the original. To put it simply, Final Fantasy VII: Remake won’t be a remastered version of FF7 but instead a remade one. Is this bad? I mean, look at StarCraft: Remastered. It’s like, an okay game right. The graphics are a bit easier on the eyes. It’s nice. Just sort of nice. Blizzard did a super careful job of keeping it the same game, just with prettier graphics and working out of the box in Windows 10. Nice…

Square Enix’s hit series Kingdom Hearts has been around since way back in 2002. Well, the seventeen-year-old franchise just hit another major milestone. The first Kingdom Hearts immediately snared the attention of gamers around the world. Featuring a crossover universe of Disney, beloved Square Enix characters and a slew of new faces, the game offered a vibrantly new and interesting experience. Since the release of the first game, Square Enix has released well over a dozen titles across a bevy of gaming platforms. The latest in the series is Kingdom Hearts 3, the final edition of the series’ main trilogy. The game was released Jan. 25 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One respectively. The title features the series original main character Sora, as the character is swept off to a battle between darkness and light. Set to search for the key to return hearts and the seven guardians of light,…

Everyone and their mom is playing and loving Kingdom Hearts 3, and as an avid KH fan, I personally love not only the hype but also the game itself! Sadly though this isn’t just another review of the game, it’s more of a deconstruction of the new parts than of the game as a whole. A look into what bits and pieces of other Square Enix titles made it into the new smash hit. Easily the biggest, most noticeable, and at the very least to me, most surprising is the cooking. Fairly early on in the story you make a stop at Twilight Town, a classic location that since its introduction in the second game has become a staple, appearing in almost every game after the fact. Long time fans fist noted two things, first all the people, a welcome introduction in many locations in the third game that makes…

Don’t let the three within the title fool you, Kingdom Hearts 3 is far from the third title within the series. With just shy of a dozen within the series, Kingdom Hearts is filled with spin-offs and alternate universes that both entertain and boggle the mind. Now, however, fans of the series are gearing up for the final chapter of the primary narrative. Some of the top sites within the gaming world have already offered a review of the upcoming title, offering fans a sneak peak at Kingdom Hearts 3. Check out what many…

Kingdom Hearts has become a household name to the gaming community. That being said, the beloved franchise can fall victim to leaks just like any other. As far as series director Tetsuya Nomura is concerned, it might be time for some changes. Just last month, four copies of the long awaited Kingdom Hearts 3 were sold ahead of the game’s intended release. Publishing titan Square Enix has since been working hard to drown out any leaks concerning the game. However, Tetsuya Nomura is seemingly still concerned. Kingdom Hearts 3 will be released worldwide on Jan. 29. Speaking with Famitsu, Nomura revealed that he is reconsidering permitting worldwide retail releases following the recent leak. “Because of what happened, the risks for a simultaneous worldwide release are high, for any games that I work on henceforth, currently I cannot help but reconsider a simultaneous worldwide release for at the very least the…
