In a typical MMO, a dungeon would be known as a dungeon but in FFXIV they are known as a duty. The duty finder is basically the dungeon finder in FFXIV and the lifeblood of the game. Now, like any MMO with a dungeon finder, there isn’t always the best company to play with and you won’t always have a successful run of whatever you’re signing up for, but that’s okay and part of life. We’re going to go over the duty finder and some tips on how to make your duty runs more successful, because with just four player groups, one person can make a difference. For those coming over from WoW: Dungeon sizes are different in FFXIV. Dungeons are known as as a “Duty” in the game. Instanced gameplay comes through a lot of flavors. To continue the story, often a duty is required although these requirements change…

RoleGenerator was launched in July 2021 oriented to helping dungeon masters and roleplaying game enthusiasts with generating a lot of the day to day minutia of their roleplaying campaigns. As of right now, they have 28 modules divided into two categories: Dungeons & Dragons and generic roleplaying generators. The latter refers to narrative content or content that isn’t specific to any game system and ubiquitous across any type of roleplaying gaming. There are modules focused purely on roleplaying, my favorite being the land and event generator which will take a terrain type and generate flavor text and events that randomly could occur which is great for fleshing out tile by tile what’s there (or even in building rooms for a MUD). Their D&D module generates a shop with inventory, which is useful in building some much needed randomness between shops. Many of the modules include in-depth looks what the generator…

Persona 5 / Persona 5 Royal (the updated “golden” version of P5) is an amazingly fun game and unlike Persona 3/4, it’s so much more forgiving in a lot of areas. If you want to play without a walkthrough, which makes the game boring and tedious to get through each day checking and if you mess up anywhere you’re off the boat, then this guide is for you. The problem is that it’s hard to play the game without a walkthrough, because the game is so large and there is so much to do. Here’s the deal – to be time efficient you should spoil the trophies / achievements to know how to get them, but that’s on your second playthrough. You have to have two playthroughs to 100% the game. Therefore you can play your first playthrough however you want to and if you don’t get everything that’s fine.…

This is a rather short guide, because I have a lot of anxiety when I have a new character I want to run through raid finder and there is a lot of toxic people who instead of going, oh you’re just trying to get some gear, instead go “LOL NOOB” and many other more horrible things and that sucks. So let’s talk about preparing, so you can at least avoid any embarrassment when you load into the raid finder. The first thing to do is understand you’re going to suck if you don’t have gear and that’s totally fine and nothing anyone says matters, as long as you’re DPS or you’re a few months into an expansion and picked healer. If you roll as a tank into raid finder in the minimum required gear, you’re going to have a horrible time. We’ll talk about tanking in a bit. Next you’re…

The year was circa 2002. Ragnarok Online was getting long in the tooth and I was invited into a mystical world that existed only until 2005, which was Dark Age of Camelot. The entire game itself was I would argue harder than Dark Souls. Soloing anything was next to near impossible and leveling required a group and lots of patience. FFXI, while not my cup of tea, was in many ways similar and players have similar opinions. The point of the game, the success, came from community. Building community with like minded players who wanted to sit and chat and play a video game together was your reward. It wasn’t power. It wasn’t fame. It wasn’t prize money. It was friendship, something we’ve long long lost in online gaming. To level, you would have to have a stereotypical archetype group of a tank, healer and DPS. The tank could only…

Endless World is an idle game and it has a cool feature sort of like Tap Titans 2 and other idle games where you enter into a 2 day contest to see who can get the furthest the fastest. How do you win this Sprint? Well, it’s actually not 100% pay to win. There are some strategies that you can use to take you to the top. The first strategy is to babysit the game. Especially the further you get into the game. If you run out of inventory spaces, you can’t progress for instance. So you’ll need to clear your inventory. You’ll want to cash in encounters as soon as they’re done and run the gold dungeon if it’s up for instance. Outside of that, you’ll want the game open so you’re constantly advancing. The next strategy is to avoid buying your tombstone and instead buy items from the…

If you want to boost your character’s power in Dragon Quest, there are two words you need to know. Attribute Seeds. These hard to find collectible items can boost your abilities, giving you increased effectiveness in every aspect of the game. That being said, you will have to find them first. What are Attribute Seeds? Attribute Seeds are powerful items that can raise your attributes permanently. Each seed will increase a single attribute by one point. While each seed is tied to a specific attribute, there are multiple seeds for each attribute. Consequently, you can greatly increase the power of your character with these nifty items. Where Can You Find Attribute Seeds? Attribute Seeds are rewards for exploring the world of Dragon Quest. The seeds can be found hiding inside chests and barrels sprinkled throughout the realm. Sometimes the seeds are hidden in hard to reach places. However, the seeds…
