Starfield, which has been the hallmark moniker for “Toddslop,” has set the bar for future Bethesda games fairly low. Starfield’s launch has been met with a considerable amount of negative reception and I fully expect that Elder Scrolls 6 will meet the same fate. To succinctly put my point: Skyrim will remain the gold standard and Elder Scrolls 6 will fall as flat as Starfield has. That is unless Bethesda does some major restructuring with their creative design. Skyrim is where this series will rest on its laurels forever, unless innovation comes fast. Starfield gave us an inferior experience to Skyrim, even with the wealth of new technology and learnings from Skyrim and Elder Scrolls Online, along with Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Starfield Sets the Bar Low Starfield should have been the latest open world RPG that players flock to. A space setting, with the Bethesda world building and…

The top RPGs from the 1990s onward are essential for fans, redefining the genre’s standards. Skyrim offers expansive moddable gameplay, while The Witcher 3 delivers impactful choices and story. Final Fantasy VII is celebrated for its narrative, and Ocarina of Time is notable for immersive play. Mass Effect set precedents with its narrative and gun-based action. These games exemplify the transformative escapism RPGs provide, setting benchmarks for future titles.

Borderlands 3 is the sequel to Borderlands 2 and kicks off with a new vault hunter back on Pandora taking on an epic adventure throughout the galaxy. There is a lot of the same and a lot of new things in this rendition and our review is pretty simple. If you want an FPS loot game that’s sillier than Destiny 2 and/or an improved version of Borderlands 2 then this game is a must have. The looter shooter has impressive combat, great guns and fun characters to play with some interesting and challenging encounters throughout the world. If you want a detailed story FPS game then, I’m not sure I would recommend Borderlands 3. The story, while long and very in-depth, isn’t very good. The basic premise is that there are two people who have taken over the bandits on Pandora and formed a cult. You’re basically fighting against the…

Technomancer is a game developed by Spiders and published by Focus Home Entertainment back in 2016. This game seems to be a forgotten gem as it is challenging and fun to play. I have read some bad reviews from its launch, but I think the problem was that it was too challenging of a game for the reviewers as it required some actual skill at videogames. Let’s face it when people review games they try to blow through the game using brute force so that they can be one of the first to review it, but we work differently here. We make sure we understand the mechanics of the game before we open our mouths. We also don’t suffer from a binary rating system or backdoor deals, so our reviews tend to be more honest. If a game sucks we say so and explain why instead of just bashing it…

From Lair of the Shadow Broker to cosmetic horse armor, there has been varying degrees of quality when it comes to DLC but is it all just too much? Now don’t get me wrong I have absolutely L O V E D some DLC, the aforementioned Lair of the Shadow Broker, RDR Undead Nightmare, and Blood and Wine from Witcher 3 to name a few but I am also just getting worn out with DLC. For every Ballad of Gay Tony, there is a thousand garbage, poorly thought out, overly expensive, could have been in the game from the start pieces of trash that populate our online gaming stores., and it just wears you down after a while. Even some great DLC can still be damaging to the gaming community as a whole, like the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11, the game has already announced six whole DLC fighters to be…

This is satire. If it’s something you can believe, that speaks to BioWare’s problems eh Bowser move over, BioWare is attempting to find someone internally to promote to CEO named Sovereign, to bring forth their powers to help save the studio after yet another flop has been released. Anthem, their first original IP since Dragon Age, has flopped because everyone on social media has said it has. Previous games, such as Mass Effect Andromeda were on sale for $9.99 shortly after release, being a game that was similar to the Halo games that didn’t have Master Chief, but with the trappings of a numbered Halo game. Nintendo recently promoted Bowser to rule over Nintendo of America, dethroning the bad meme that was Reggie, in order to instill an iron fist rule over the corporation. Hopefully, Sovereign, if they can find one, will come forth to save BioWare from itself and…

Electronic Arts Inc., the multi-billion dollar company behind many of the world’s top selling games, recently took a big hit in the stock market. Now it would appear that the company may soon reach a ten year low concerning the matter. As reported by Market Watch, EA’s shares (-13.43%) plunged by an estimated 10 percent on Tuesday following missed sales expectations. EA’s stock has reportedly fallen a total 24 percent within the past year. If EA’s stock continues to decline through today, the company will experience its largest single-day percentage decline since Dec. 17, 1999. EA Chief Executive Andrew Wilson has gone on to claim that the company faced “significant challenges” within the fiscal third quarter of the year that would continue through the fourth quarter. Battlefield V has drawn much of the blame. The title reportedly sold a grand 1 million fewer copies than EA executives had anticipated. The…

We get caught up playing games to finish them or achieve something or score some victory or some win. Some amount of points, some kind of achievements; these are things that we crave in order to drive us to play games but really, the journey to do these things are so important. I’ve been playing Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and I noticed something. Moving between objectives was far more fun than actually completing them. Seeing the world, listening to the sea, watching the ships move in the distance while mountains lumbered over the horizon; the views in the game are beyond gorgeous. The combat, while enthralling and the story, while good creates a world that really makes your time in it exciting and fun. In games we often think about the goals, often listed directly on the screen and of little more. Games like Shadow of the Colossus really brought the…
