There are loads of awesome locations in the land of the Mushroom Kingdom. It is a magical world full of amazing sites and possibilities, as well as danger. In the off chance that Bowser or some other crazy villain didn’t want to take over the world, here are the top Mario destinations that I would want top hit. Peach’s Castle It would be a cardinal sin to visit the Mushroom Kingdom and not get a glimpse of Peach’s Castle. Peach’s Castle is perhaps the most iconic location throughout Mario history and has been revisited time and time again. I would love to witness the architecture and awe in person. The stain-glass paintings would be a sight to see, as well as the many secret passageways and courtyard. It was fun to explore the castle in Super Mario 64, but witnessing it in person would be even greater. Isle Delfino Introduced…

Fortnite has taken over our world as we know it. It is everywhere surrounding us, you cannot escape it. It is infiltrating pop culture and every household you can imagine. If you are a male between the ages of 5 and 55, chances are you have played Fortnite. Even grandparents know about the Fortnite phenomenon. Kids these days are obsessed with this game, and Epic Games is capitalizing on it. One of the recent power moves is the release of Fortnite Nerf Blasters and Super Soakers, and I’m going to rank my top 5 right here, right now. Keep an eye out for these toys in a neighborhood near you. Honorable Mention: TS-R Super Soaker Water Blaster Pump Action This Super Soaker is based on the shotgun in the game. Expect to have short to mid-range with this weapon. It holds a liter of water and has pump-soakage with a…

With the Avengers series about to wrap up at the end of April, many fan theories are hitting the web about how the franchise will end. After a snap of the fingers of Thanos, half of the Avengers are dead, along with half of the universe. Tony Stark is floating alone in space and only time will tell if Marvel’s greatest heroes can stop the mighty Thanos with his Infinity Gauntlet. Will the Avengers be able to rally around each other and save the day, or will Thanos maintain his title of being the baddest mofo in the galaxy? One thing I think we can all agree on is that this finale will be emotional. There will most likely be more deaths and sacrifices made by the Avengers to save humanity. The motto for our heroes in this go around is “whatever it takes.” That is a phrase that sends…

Back in the day, there used to be two baseball games that would compete with each other; Sony’s MLB The Show and MLB 2K. Following the release of MLB 2K13, 2K Sports dropped the franchise, leaving PlayStation exclusive The Show to dominate the virtual baseball market. In 2014, RBI Baseball brought back their franchise, aiming to create a more arcade-based style instead of the realistic simulation that The Show offers. I think that is an unwise decision and that the RBI Baseball franchise won’t exist much longer in the future. The thing about baseball video games is that no one buys them except for hardcore baseball fans. Except for Mario Baseball or epic arcade-style games like The Bigs or Slugfest, baseball fans want a realistic sim. The casual baseball fan isn’t going to buy a copy of RBI Baseball like a casual fan would buy Madden or NBA 2K. If…

With the live-action trend happening in movies today, it’s no surprise that a Sonic the Hedgehog movie is going down. The character design was recently leaked, and I must say that it was a little shocking to me. I’ll let you be the judge yourself. https://twitter.com/tssznews/status/1102702868824498176 Thoughts? The image of Sonic was released but then taken down by the movie marketing company. Maybe the design will be revamped due to a backlash on social media; I’m not sure. Personally, I am not a fan of the design. I think it looks weird and whacky and is a poor representation of Sonic. It appears a little creepy honestly, not like a hero that you would want to root for. I don’t get why they are going for this realistic, live-action concept for Sonic. It may work for movies like The Lion King, but that’s because those animals are real and can…

Towards the end of this month, Yoshi’s Crafted World will be released worldwide for the Nintendo Switch. I’m not sure how, but I literally just heard about this game for the first time the other day. I saw gameplay footage on YouTube, and I have to say, this game looks pretty hype. Yoshi is one of my favorite Mario characters. He is a loyal, trusty pal and he deserves to have the spotlight on him now and then. In addition to being one of my favorite captains in Mario Baseball, Yoshi also happens to have some cool abilities that are fun to play around with and explore. Yoshi is an absolute speed demon, he can stay in the air for while with his jump, and his tongue and egg-making abilities make him a real threat to any enemy. He’s not one to mess around with. The last game I played that…

Everything in this world has its particular lingo. In baseball there are phrases such as “this dude drops tanks” meaning he hits the crap out of the ball. There is specific legal jargon, such as the terms “de jure” and “de facto” which mean something. Gaming is no different. Gaming has its own lingo, and if you want to consider yourself a true gamer, you need to polish up on your vocabulary. Let’s start with some basics. While “GG” could mean a number of things in the real world, from “go girl!” to Charlie Brown’s catchphrase “good grief,” “GG” simply means good game. If you’ve had a hard fought multiplayer battle, you may want to message your opponent telling them it was a good game. This shows your respect for their gameplay and that you admire their skills. “FTW” is another basic term. It means “for the win”. It is…

So you got the game, the nice tv, and are ready to binge for hours on end. But games aren’t just about playing them, it’s about the experience. You can amplify your experience so much more than you realize, and I’m here to tell you how to take your video game experience to the next level. First up on the list is the chair. Your video game chair will be one of the most consistent aspects in your life. No matter how long you binge, what game you play, your chair will always be there to support you. Your choice of chair is crucial. A bean bag chair is an excellent option, and there are several gaming chairs out on the market as well. I’d recommend a futon if you are in a college dorm, but my personal favorite is a nice lazy boy styled recliner. That is the ideal…

So I have a problem with Apex Legends. The game has a severe learning curve and is extremely difficult to pick up at first. I have a few matches under my belt now, and by matches I mean surviving for a brief moment until I get killed by someone who actually knows what they’re doing. So my problem with Apex Legends is this: why is there no solo matchmaking at all? As one experienced in the art of team sports, I understand what Apex Legends is doing and I appreciate their idea of promoting the team over the individual. However, I find it hard to be able to experiment with the game and get comfortable with it when I have a team that is relying on me at all times. As someone who is currently not very skilled at the game, I would like a mode that would let me…

Annual sports games are generally the same every year, with some improvements sprinkled in here and there. MLB The Show is no different. I am a huge MLB fan and initially went the Playstation route over Xbox solely because of The Show, but I don’t think I have bought a copy of the game since 2016. However, the changes that are coming with this year’s version are enticing enough to make me want to spend that extra $60 to get my lifelike MLB experience. Personally, I play MLB The Show for mainly one reason – and that’s for its Road to the Show mode. My childhood dream was to become a major league baseball player, but at 5’6″ and 135 pounds as a senior in high school, I realized that dream would never come true. However, with Road to the Show, I can be a switch-hitting, 6’3″ beast who drops…
