Anime voice actor Vic Mignogna has been cut from his role in popular show RWBY. Rooster Teeth released a statement on their website saying “Effective today, Vic Mignogna is no longer a part of the cast of RWBY and Rooster Teeth is ending all associations with Mignogna. This will not affect the creative content of RWBY.” There have been sexual harassment allegations popping up, but Rooster Teeth didn’t announce any reason for cutting its ties with Mignogna. Mignogna is being accused of homophobia and inappropriate, unwanted physical advances on females at fan events. Mignogna has been accused by many who have met him at conventions. There are even stories of Mignogna dealing with underage girls. These allegations first came to light on social media, mainly through Twitter, and have quickly snowballed. Fellow voice actors are backing up these fans and showing their support on social media as well. Rooster Teeth is the first…

A child sex sting operation finally reached its end this Super Bowl Sunday. Of the 21 men arrested, none other than Hi-Rez studios’ Thomas Cheung has been taken into custody. Thomas Cheung has previously worked for CCP Games on EVE Online and held contracts from popular game companies like NZXT who has released a statement saying they are not affiliated with him and they condemned this behavior and Steelseries, who has acknowledged he is no longer associated with the brand, but has yet to release any other statement. (Tweets below). This is a travesty for the gaming community, in which he had many hands in and wore many hats in the last few years for. While only currently a suspect, these allegations are very strong. (Editor’s Note) This hits really close to home, literally, being based out of Georgia. Dot Matrix Media, Game Truth’s parent company, absolutely condemns this behavior…

As has been done in the past, Electronic Arts did their yearly Super Bowl simulation, trying to predict this year’s winner. This Madden NFL 19 sim had the Rams beating the Patriots by a score of 30 – 27. Historically, the Madden Super Bowl sim has been pretty accurate. Since 2004, the simulation has been correct 10 out of 15 times, not bad for a video game. While Madden has shown to be accurate in past predictions, I am here to tell you Madden is wrong this year. As much as I would love to see my UGA boy Todd Gurley tear it up this Sunday and hoist that Lombardi trophy, I don’t see it happening. There is one thing that video games cannot replicate – determination and spirit. Tom Brady and the Patriots are determined and motivated like never before. They feel like they are underdogs and that everyone doubts them, and that terrifies me. The…

Ubisoft’s Far Cry series has experienced a great resurgence since the release of the highly praised Far Cry 3. Well, it would appear that the next title in the series may offer a few new takes on the now well versed franchise. Far Cry New Dawn is set to take place 17 years after the events of Far Cry 4, offering a somewhat post-apocalyptic take on the series. Speaking in a recent promotional tweet, creative director Jean-Sebastien Decant has now revealed that Far Cry New Dawn will feature some RPG elements. “We pushed what we call the light RPG approach in the game to create more depth, so you’ll be able to craft guns that have ranks, and these ranks they will be useful to fight against enemies that also have ranks.” Decant said. “We have what we call the escalation system for the outposts,” Decant later continued, noting changes…

Following a video from YouTuber TheQuartering — who noted the game’s low availability on Amazon as one of many reasons for Fallout 76’s potential move to free-to-play — the rumor of the game’s shift to being a free service sky rocketed. However, it would appear that there is no reason to get excited quite yet. Fallout 76 is the latest in Bethesda’s highly popular Fallout series. While Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 have been met largely with high praise, Fallout 76 has met negative critical reception. The game currently holds a Metacritic score of 52 for its PC version. None the less, news of the game’s potential shift to free-to-play snared the attention of many longtime Fallout fans. A fan would go on to ask Bethesda if there is any truth to the rising rumor. Bethesda however has since categorically denied any intention to take Fallout 76 to a free-to-play…

Bethesda recently issued a lawsuit against mobile Westworld game developer Behaviour Interactive. Bethesda has claimed that the developer has stolen coding, designs and artwork which have since allegedly been used within the Westworld game. Behaviour helped develop Bethesda’s incredibly popular mobile game Fallout Shelter, which released back in 2015. Within the recent lawsuit, Bethesda claimed that the development studio has stolen assets from the Fallout Shelter property and has allegedly appropriated them for the development team’s recent Westworld mobile game. Westworld owners Warner Bros. are being sued by Bethesda for inducement to breach of contract. Meanwhile, Behaviour is being sued for breach of contract. Both parties, however, are facing litigation for “their willful and intentional infringement of Bethesda’s copyrights, misappropriation of Bethesda’s trade secrets, and deceptive business practices and unfair competition through their development, marketing, and promotion of the Westworld mobile game.” Warner Bros. has since provided a statement, as reported by…

“Do you guys not have phones?” A phrase that will live in infamy as the moment where people of the what I would define as more “hardcore” gaming audience realized that mobile games had worked their way into even the most “sacred” of gaming franchises. Mortal Kombat has one, Diablo is getting one and now the much-loved Alien: Isolation is getting a mobile sequel. But that is old news now and acts more as inspiration and example then the breaking of a story, so this one’s for you Alien: Blackout. What I am trying to say here is that there are basically two things that are examined when a game is put into development and that is money and popularity. The gaming community is at a crossroads where those two things are starting to butt heads which is ultimately hurting the people caught in the crossfire. No one can deny…
