After releasing a teaser trailer just one day prior, Gearbox delivered a press conference at PAX East on Thursday that many Borderlands fans have been anticipating for quite some time. No, I’m not talking about Randy Pitchford’s demonstration of his magic skill. On top of the foreshadowed Borderlands 3, here are all of the announcements from Gearbox’s PAX East showcase. Pathologic 2 Gets a Release Date The strangely-named Pathologic 2, which is actually a remake of the 2005 cult classic Pathologic rather than a proper sequel, got a release date of May 23rd, 2019. The game is being published by tinyBuild of Hello Neighbor fame in cooperation with Gearbox and will be released in chapters through Steam. Risk of Rain 2 The sequel to Hopoo Games’ popular rogue-like takes the series from the 2nd dimension into the 3rd. A third-person co-op game being published by Gearbox, it’s a bit of…

With the Avengers series about to wrap up at the end of April, many fan theories are hitting the web about how the franchise will end. After a snap of the fingers of Thanos, half of the Avengers are dead, along with half of the universe. Tony Stark is floating alone in space and only time will tell if Marvel’s greatest heroes can stop the mighty Thanos with his Infinity Gauntlet. Will the Avengers be able to rally around each other and save the day, or will Thanos maintain his title of being the baddest mofo in the galaxy? One thing I think we can all agree on is that this finale will be emotional. There will most likely be more deaths and sacrifices made by the Avengers to save humanity. The motto for our heroes in this go around is “whatever it takes.” That is a phrase that sends…

Back in the day, there used to be two baseball games that would compete with each other; Sony’s MLB The Show and MLB 2K. Following the release of MLB 2K13, 2K Sports dropped the franchise, leaving PlayStation exclusive The Show to dominate the virtual baseball market. In 2014, RBI Baseball brought back their franchise, aiming to create a more arcade-based style instead of the realistic simulation that The Show offers. I think that is an unwise decision and that the RBI Baseball franchise won’t exist much longer in the future. The thing about baseball video games is that no one buys them except for hardcore baseball fans. Except for Mario Baseball or epic arcade-style games like The Bigs or Slugfest, baseball fans want a realistic sim. The casual baseball fan isn’t going to buy a copy of RBI Baseball like a casual fan would buy Madden or NBA 2K. If…

Honestly, I wouldn’t buy into it until you hear something official, but this image is making the rounds from LawBreakers, out of Peru. The image above shows the price followed by October 2019 in the bottom left corner. While, it’s possible this is fake in some capacity or it’s some gaming chain trying to ultra smart somehow, it’s an interesting reveal and would likely line up with what everyone would like… the Last of Us sequel coming sooner than later. Should you get your hopes up? Nah, but I would expect something to come out as this gets out there further across the Internet confirming maybe a quarter for the release – it’s soon, for sure. Probably 2019 according to this interview at least. The above trailer explains most of what we know so far. You can play as Ellie, so that’s a start and it’s a video game. The…

Darkest Dungeon, the turn-based dungeon crawler of 2016, is officially getting a sequel. Now Red Hook Studios, the development team responsible for the hit game, has come forward with a new trailer to officially announce the upcoming release. Darkest Dungeon hit stores back in 2016, having been released for PC respectively. Following the game’s meteoric success, Darkest Dungeon has been released for a plethora of platforms. From PlayStation 4 to the Nintendo Switch, Darkest Dungeon can now be found on most consoles and other gaming platforms. The game was a great success. Having sold over 2 million copies, the highly popular dungeon crawler has since been nominated under a bevy of different categories. Video game news titan IGN would go on to offer the following statement in review of the game. “Darkest Dungeon is a grim and merciless tactical strategy game whose great tension comes from its many layers of…

It was just recently announced that a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening will be dropping in 2019. I have never played the original, but from what I saw in the trailer, this game looks beautiful. The sequel to A Link to the Past, Link’s Awakening deals with hero Link stranded on a strange island after washing ashore while out at sea. I am excited to cintinue this specific Link’s story and see what his destiny holds for him. After the success of releasing A Link Between Worlds (which was basically a remake itself), it seems like a no-brainer for Nintendo to release a remake of Link’s Awakening. Originally released for the Game Boy, this remake is a great fit for the Nintendo Switch system, which can be played as a console or in mobile form. The game looks absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. The trailer for this game begins with a cartoon scene…

In the ’80s the future always featured cool new tech available in the home, conveniently and so inexpensive that everyone had it, but as we inch closer to the future they envisioned back then nothing is quite as they expected and VR is no different. I can’t deny that VR is a fantastic invention, revolutionary for our time and has changed the way we experience not only video games but media in general, but what it isn’t is affordable. The headsets themselves range from about $350 to $500 depending on which one, where from, so forth and so on. This price doesn’t even include what you have to run the headset on, the graphics card that most sites recommend is around $400, and even at best with PSVR you still have to buy a PS4 before you can use it, so you see the point I’m trying to say? The…

This article will contain spoilers about Kingdom Hearts 3 and its ending, please be aware of this before you continue With the disclaimer out of the way, I have to say that I have very mixed feelings about the most recent entry in the Kingdom Hearts franchise. On one hand, the gameplay is amazingly fun, wonderfully customizable and as over the top and action packed as a kid that grew up with the franchise could hope for. On the other hand, this game was filled to the brim with story moments that made no sense, felt out of place and confused the hell out of even the most die-hard of KH fans. By the end of the game though, I had fallen back in love with the series that had always managed to bring a smile to my face and make me crave one more playthrough. Sadly though this isn’t…
